Criss Cross Ropes and Braids

This one was actually prettty simple. I went back about and inch and part the hair ear to ear. I made 3 ropes and 3 braids. I just did every other one a rope or braid. To make a rope braid just part the section in half, twist both sections one way, and them twist them together the opposite way. Make sure to have the braids angle toward the opposite side of the head. I continued the part from the front all the way down making two pony tails. I added the 3 ropes/braids from the right to the left pony tail and secured them with an elastic. With the ropes/braids on the left I crossed them over and under each of the ropes/braids from the left and then secured them to the pony tail on the right. I topped it off with two small white ranunculas from snapbandz.com

5 simple braids and 2 piggies

I parted the hair on each side and back to the crown to make a traingle. I split the hair in half from side to side with another part. I added an elastic to the hair at the crown. I took the hair from the front of the traingle and made a simple 3 strand braid and connected it to the back pony. I did the same thing on each side of the first triangle braid. Then I took the hair from the middle pony and split in in half. I took half the hair from the middle braid and the hair from one pony and did a simple 3 strand braid. I did this on both sides. Then I made two low ponies with the remaining hair and and added the braids to them. I clipped in two light green daisies from Snapbandz.com

Triple Knot Pig Tails

I started by parting on the left side and the right all the way back to the crown so I had a big square on the top of her head. Then I parted that about an inch or so back so I had a rectangle at the front of her head. Then I parted this down the center so I had two boxes.
Then I took the two pieces of hair as if they were laces and "tied" them. You want to wrap the hair around twice so it creates a knot. Then just pull the hair tight on both sides. This works best with wet hair and I even added a little hairspray first.


I repeat this back three times. I alternated on each knot the direction I tied it. The first I did the right over left...second, left over right...and third, right over left again. When you are done you should have three knots like this.

After I did the three knots I just part the rest of the hair down the middle in the back and made two ponies that included the hair from the knots. I topped this do off with two spikey green hydranges from www.snapbandz.com Super cute!

Zig Zag Ponies

This one was simple and easy. I just did a zig zag part to the crown and made two pony tails and flipped them under. This is topped off with two light green gerbera daisies from www.snapbandz.com

Another fun picture I found on my cell phone. This was probably two years ago! Gotta love my feet in the picture. She looked so cute this day!

This one has four flip under ponies at the front. The hair from the middle two I split and made two braids. The outside two I just braided the hair. I also made four more flip under ponies behind the first four. I crossed the middle two braids to make an X and attached to the other ponies as shown. I braided the hair from the second set of ponies and attached to two pony tails at the bottom. It would have also been cute to cross the middle two ponies again at the bottom to make a second X. I braided the hair from the two big ponies and brought them back up and attached them with an elastic. I added some cute ribbons and left the ends sticking out. I hope that makes sense. Super cute!

I found these pictures that I had taken with my phone quite a while ago. Because I took them with my phone the quality is not so good. It's fun to see how long her hair used to be. We chopped off a lot but it is growing back FAST! I have loved having it shorter though...it feels super healthy now.

Anyway, here's how I did it.
I started by parting the hair on the side to the crown at an angle. Then I made six ponies on each side of the part. Two in the front, two behind those, and then two at the crown. I then took the hair from the front two ponies on either side of the part and "linked" them together. You do it just like you are going to tie a shoelace. Then attach the ends to the next two pony tails and repeat. Do the same thing on the other side of the part. When I was finished I decided to add the hair at the end together in one pony. I also used my 3 barrel curling iron on this. I love the way it looks...but it is a little tricky to use. I topped it all off with a Moss Green Spider Gerb from Snapbandz.com

Six Braids*Two Ponies* Updo

This turned out really cute! I just started with 3 flip under ponies in the front and braided the hair on each. I attached the 3 braids to the top half of her hair in a pony. I did a mirror image of the same thing on the bottom. 3 flip under ponies at the base of her neck, braided the hair and attached to bottom half of her hair in a pony. This created two large ponies right next to each other. By doing this I was able to curl the hair and make it look much more full. I just used a regular old curling iron this time. I used bobby pins and pinned up some of the longer strands. To top it off I finished with an adorable pink ranuncula from Snapbandz.com Hope you enjoy!

6 ponies with ropes

I just have one picture of this hairdo but I thought it was too cute to not share. This is Miss Emma with my cute sis-in-law Jamie. For this I started with 6 pony tails. I always start with the front middle to make sure they are even. I used different colored elastics on this one to match her shirt. Usually before I start the ponies I make a big square on the top of her head...seperate into six squares. When the ponies are done you divide the hair from the front middle pony and make two ropes and attach to the outside ponies in the back. Make ropes with the remaining two ponies in the front and attach to the back middle pony with an elastic. To make ropes you divide the hair in half and twist the two pieces the same direction. Then you twist the two twists together the opposite direction. So if you twist the two pieces clockwise you want to twist them together counter-clockwise. I will try to take some pics of how to do this to post. I used my flat iron again on this one to add a little curl. This hair do would be way cute with any 3 of Snapbandz mini flowers.

Zig Zag Ponies

I thought this turned out cute. I am not very good at writing how to's but I am going to try! For this one I just did a zig zag part down the middle to the crown. I did two zigs and two zags if that makes sense. I parted the hair from the middle to her ear and combed it into a pony. I flipped it under...repeat on other side. (make sure to do your pony tail loose enough that you have room to flip it. I just use my pinky finger or sometimes the end of a rattail comb.) Then I parted from the crown to just behind her ear. Add the hair from the front pony to this pony and add the elastic. Then I just flipped that pony under also. I used my flat iron to make some soft curls. My flat iron is my favorite curling iron lately. It gets hot super fast and doesn't take long to add some nice curls. Then to top it off I added a couple of turquoise cosmos from Snapbandz. Super cute!
