Little Beauty

I was lucky enough to have this little doll model for me. Check out those BLUE eyes! We are adding new boutique bows to the snapbandz.com all the time. We will also be adding the elastic headbands in both solid and chevron very soon. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do!

Headband and side pony

This one was a little different. I thought it was pretty simple so I didn't take step by step photos.
I started with four small square flip under knots all flipped so they pointed toward one ear. They were arranged like a box at the front of her head. I took the remaining hair and pulled it into a side pony and added the headband betweeen the two rows of ponies. Then I took the hair from the two ponies on the left and "linked" them and secured the hair to the next two ponies. (I was in a hurry and just used whatever elastics I grabbed...would have looked better if I did them all the same color.) I took the hair from the two ponies in the front and made a rope braid and attached it to the large pony. (To make it the headband stay on even better you may want to do the knots on the bottom as well.) I wrapped a piece of hair around the elastic and pulled it through with my topsy tail to hide it. Have I mentioned that I LOVE this flower? Well I do. It is an eggplant gerb from snapbandz.com and is on a cream nylon headband. She looked too cute!

Just because...

I took some cute pictures of the kids the other day and thought I would share. I LOVE the flower that Emma is wearing. It is the flame gerb from snapbandz.com under large flowers. I did a hair headband with one twist and one braid. The hair is secured with an elastic at the base of her neck. I thought it looked great with the "real" headband. Twisted Attached Headband

This one took a little thought but it was so cute! I parted her hair about an inch or so back and to both ears. With the hair on the front I made 3 flip under knots.

Then I did the same thing at the base of her neck to her ears...3 more flip under knots (just make sure they "flip up" toward the pony tail.) After I had all six knots done I added the headband. I seperated the hair from the front middle pony in half. I took half the hair from the middle and the hair from one of the side ponies and did a rope braid and connected it to the large pony tail. I made sure that one section of hair was on the top of the pony and the other was on the bottom...this is what holds the headband on. I did the same thing on the other side and to the bottom of her hair.



With the remaining hair I just did a messy bun. I think if I do this again I will do ponies on the side of her head too so the headband stays a little better. The headband I used on this is a narrow green crochet headband with a turquoise ranuncula from snapbandz.com

This is just a simple way to spice up a headband.


I started with wet hair and parted in on the side. I also parted the hair from the part down along her hair line as far back as I wanted the braid and added the rest of the hair to a pony in the back to keep it out of my way. I only did about an inch or two back so that I could add the headband when I was finished. Then I did an inside out french braid all the way down behind the ear. I did this on both sides and then connected the two pieces of hair with an elastic at the base of her neck. Then I added the headband. Super cute! Her hair was still wet in these pics. After it dried I used my flat iron and did a few curls and it looked adorable. The braid still looked good the next day so I untied the elastic at the base of her neck and made the braids go all the way down. Then I pulled her hair hair up in a pony tail and connected the two braids to it. I added a cute flower from Snapbandz and she was ready to go! Here's a picture from later that night.

Linked Headband

I LOVE this! I just started out with two rows of ponies. 5 in each row. I started with the center pigtail so that they would be somewhat even. You want the front row to go back as far as you want the headband to sit. You can kind of determine this by where her ears are in relation to the ponies. You want the headband just behind the ears. Once you have all 10 ponies done you add the headband and pull the front five ponies forward. There are a lot of ways you could do this but I just did links. I split the hair from the front 3 ponies. You just do it like you are tying a shoelace. Twist around once and add the elastic. Continue until all ponies are done. I made sure the snap on the headband was between two ponies so there would be room to snap the flower on. When I was all done I just snapped the flower on. This only took about ten minutes and I think it looks great! This would be way cute with curls also. The headband I used is a Aqua Nylon Headband from Snapbandz.
