We had so much fun together getting ready and taking these pictures. Her little brother is kind of a nut! Love them both. For her hair I just used my flat iron to add some curls. I like to add a little shine serum and separate the curls and then top it off with some hairspray. I made the headband to match her dress. We are happy to take custom orders. Just e-mail mandymills@snapbandz.com. Happy Valentine's Day!

We love to add accessories from Snapbandz. This hairdo is a simple variation. Start by parting the hair on the side to the crown. Next make another part about an inch or so parallel to the first. With this section of hair you will make 3 rope braids. To make a rope braid, separate one section of hair into two pieces, twist both pieces the same direction separately and then twist them together the opposite direction. I have my daughter hold each rope as I do the next. Then part the hair from the crown to the ear, comb smooth and add a small elastic. You can do this step before you make the rope braids if it is easier. Add the 3 rope braids to the pony and secure again. I just used my pinky to flip the hair down through the pony. You can use a topsy tail or back of a rattail comb for this as well. I almost always flip Miss M's pony tails...I think it makes it lay nicer and look more polished. We added one of our adorable boutique bows on a skinny band from Snapbandz. If you haven't checked out the new boutique bows yet you really should! They can snap onto any of our headbands or onto one of our clips. www.snapbandz.com We have lots to choose from and are adding more all the time. If you need specific colors send us an email! mandymills@snapbandz.com

We are loving M's new short hair! There are still lots of things you can do with shorter hair. For this we started by parting the hair on the side but close to the center. We combed it to the side and parted from the crown of her head to her ear and added an elastic. We left the elastic a little loose so we could flip it under later. Next we went about an inch or so from the first part and made another. With this hair you will make a braid. It works best with damp or wet hair and I use a little hairspray as well. Comb the hair towards the ponytail and start a plain 3 strand braid. You can also do a twist. This is very similar to another hairdo we did when her hair was longer. Add the 3 strand braid to the pony with another small elastic and then flip under. You can use a "topsy tail" or something to flip it but I usually just use my pinky finger. ;) We used the straightener to curl the ends of her hair under a little. We finished off the look with a deep pink daisy from snapbandz.

I finally gave in and we went for it! We ended up cutting 8 inches off and would have loved to donate it but couldn't because she had had a perm...that is our goal for next time though! I love her new hair cut and still have fun styling it! I took some pictures of her a few weeks ago for her birthday and she modeled some amazing new boutique bows for me that we have added to our inventory on Snapbandz! There are many more on there as well. If you see something you like make sure to grab it quick because a lot of them are one of a kind. We hope you love them as much as we do! Check them out at www.snapbandz.com under boutique bows.
We look forward to adding some fun new short hairstyles to the blog soon! In these pics I used my flat iron to make some quick curls and we loved it.

I started by getting the hair damp and parting it on the side. Then I parted it on the opposite side to make a box on the top of her head. Using the back of my comb I "drew" a heart inside the box created a heart shaped part. Get it? Then I combed it into a ponytail at the bottom of the heart and loosely put in an elastic. To do the heart shape you want to flip the hair up using a topsy tail, rait tail comb or your pinky finger. I had my daughter hold this hair out of the way as I combed the rest of the hair into a side ponytail. Then I sectioned the top pony tail into two pieces. Each side makes a rope. Remember to do the rope just twist both pieces of hair the same direction and together the opposite direction. This definitely works better with damp hair and I use a little bit of hairspray as well. After I did the first rope I had my daughter hold it as I did the second. Then I took both ropes and brought them down to the bottom pony tail and secured with an elastic. I used short bobby pins to pin the ropes down and to create a heart shape. I took a long section of hair from the pony and wrapped it around to cover the elastic and secured with a small clear elastic and pulled tight. The cute little ribbon hearts were so easy to make. They are just glued to a bobby pin! I stuck them in and used a second bobby pin creating an "x" to make sure they held all day. To finish it off I used my straightener and curled the pony tail a bit. I bet she gets lots of compliments at school today! Happy Valentines Day everyone!Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-59531039547650591832012-10-08T23:38:00.002-07:002012-10-08T23:48:39.088-07:00Kids Costumes 2012 and some braid wavesIt is, once again, my favorite time of year! I love Halloween so much and have a ton of fun coming up with fun costume ideas for my kids. My daughter had a little girl in her Kindergarten class that was a peacock and she has wanted to be one ever since. I looked up tons of pictures and thought long and hard about it, and this is what I came up with. We still need to figure out what shoes to wear and I am adding peacock feathers to her hair piece...but I think it turned out pretty fantastic. My little guy was going to be a puppy until I came across this adorable owl costume. Here are my little birdies. What do ya think?

You can't really tell, but I braided her hair along the hair line in a circle in the picture above, and this is what it looked like today after I took out the braid. I just used a little shine serum on my hands as I combed my fingers through it. LOVE it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hairdo. I started out with a dutch braid along the front and added it into the first messy bun at the base of the neck. To learn how to do the dutch braid along the part, check out our tutorial here.
My husband saw me do this hair do and I told him that it had 8 messy buns, which is a lot, and he said we should call it Crazy 8! Gotta love when he gets in on the creativity!
After I did the braid along the front I just combed the remaining hair back and started adding little ponies. The first pony had the hair from the braid on the front added into it. I did 8 small ponies right along the base of her neck. I used the little clear elastics like always.

When you have all 8 ponies done just start doing messy buns! I like the hair damp and I use hairspray to keep it smooth and in place. Lately to make a messy bun, I just take the pony and split the hair in half. then I take the top half and fold it up and the bottom down so you have a loop on the top and bottom and put my hand around it and add an elastic. If the hair is long you should have lots of hair sticking out still. So I take another elastic and fold the hair that is sticking out and secure it. Keep doing this until all the hair is secure. I tug around at the loops on the bun until I get the shape and look I want, and add more elastics anywhere it needs one. For a big messy bun I use 6 or 7 elastics. For these little guys I probably only used 3 for each.

I love the way they look and all you have to do is add your braids sections "under" instead of "over." One hairstyle we do ALL THE TIME is this braid across the front of her head. I start by parting the hair from ear to ear across her head. I comb the hair forward and the rest I tie back out of the way like this. I always think it is easier to start with damp hair. I use the back of a plastic rattail comb to make the part...just "draw" a line with the pointy end and seperate the hair.

Next I comb the hair one direction...from one ear to the other the direction the braid is going to go. Then start the braid. To get this look where the braid stays next to the part rather than being in the middle of the hair you only want to add hair into the french braid from the front side. Get it? So your right hand will add hair but your left hand won't. I like to comb it as I go and add a little hairspray to make it smooth and to keep the little fly aways down. We have worn this hairdo a second day many times.

Then just keep braiding along. When you get to the other side make sure to keep the hair really tight. I usually sit on the couch to do this hairstyle and have my daughter lay her head on my leg and then tip her head the other way when we get to the other side of her head. I also do it standing up...just have her tilt her head one way and then the other. My daughter is 6 and I just tell her to put her ear on her shoulder. :) When you get the hair braided all the way across you can add a small elastic and finish the hairdo there. I like to add the elastic and flip the hair back under like you would with a topsy tail, but I just use my pinky finger. That way the hair from the little pony goes back instead of hanging down in the front.

I usually blow dry the rest of the hair, or wait for it to dry and curl the ends under or curl the whole thing. I also usually add a flower where the pony is. Super cute! Gotta love the snaggle teeth!

Or, if you want to, keep on braiding the remaining hair like this. I do it this way sometimes and just leave the braid down.

Or, pull the hair in the back up into a pony tail. Then take the long braid and pull it back and around the pony tail and secure it with an elastic. On this one I also took a piece of hair from the bottom of the pony tail and wrapped it around to hide the elastic. I used the little clear elastics...I like the ones from Sally Beauty Supply, but the WalMart ones are fine too. Take one of the elastics and wrap it around to secure the piece of hair that is hiding the other elastic and pull the pony tail tight. You can tug a little at the wrapped piece of hair and should be able to hide that last elastic. So many possibilites!

I started by parting the hair from ear to ear and tied the bottom half of hair out of the way. On the top I parted a third of the hair from the front to the part at her crown and had my daughter hold it out of the way. With the two thirds of hair left I parted in half horizontally and made a pony with the back section. Then I took the front section and just twisted it and combined it with the rest. With the other third of her hair that I parted out of the way I made a twist and brought it across and secured it with the side pony. Then I took all the hair in the pony and made a messy bun and untied the back of the hair and combed it down. This sounds a little complicated but it was really simple and fast. I usually use my flat iron to turn the ends of her hair under just a little for a more finished look...but be careful cause those things are super hot! I added a red daisy from Snapbnadz under the messy bun.Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-47964397811117728092012-03-14T15:25:00.004-07:002013-05-22T00:23:22.185-07:00zig zag double frenchies<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PRrmugJbszk/T2EcENSYUMI/AAAAAAAAAhs/GsGLbTWycZw/s400/DSC_0191.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719883860349046978" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_R_yRuXeR2o/T2EcDs7QiII/AAAAAAAAAhg/XYjXnZcZ-wA/s400/DSC_0195.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719883851662133378" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KbsNev_l564/T2EcDMeA3NI/AAAAAAAAAhU/ve4Nh2fpmvU/s400/DSC_0193.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719883842949536978" />
The zig zag part on this hairdo makes it so fun! I started out with damp hair as usual and used the back of a comb with the pointy end and "drew" a zig zag in the hair. Then I parted from the crown to each ear and added a loose elastic to one side to keep it out of the way. I also tied the hair on the bottom out of the way. On the other side I started doing an inside out french braid. If you know how to french braid it is simple to do the inside out...just add the hair "under" instead of "over." When I got to where my part was at the crown and had no more hair to add I just continued with a 3 strand braid and secured the end. I did the same with the hair on the other side of her head and used an elastic to secure the two braids together in the back. I topped it off white a small hot pink daisy on a clip from Snapbandz.com. When I use a clip this way I put one of the prongs through the elastic so it won't slip. I loved the way this one turned out!Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-16899919321733766002012-03-14T13:11:00.005-07:002013-05-22T00:24:39.034-07:002012 Valentine Hairdo<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HIOydGJn_sk/T2D8jvWobXI/AAAAAAAAAhI/CpkmMrb2Z5o/s400/DSC_0138.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719849217697541490" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pEF2r8HCCoM/T2D8ittPJ-I/AAAAAAAAAg8/3JyF1ii7VdQ/s400/DSC_0141.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5719849200075614178" />
I know it has been forever since I have blogged. We have moved...AGAIN...and are finally settled in. I will be posting lots to catch up! :) I have seen so many cute heart hairdo's all over the blog world. I think ours turned out so cute! M was excited to wear her hair in hearts for school on Valentines Day. I always like to do M's hair when it is damp...it's way easier to control for me. I started by parting the hair all the way down the middle and securing half so I could work with one side. Then on one side I parted the hair from the crown of her head to her ear and secured the hair with an elastic and fliped the pony so the hair was going up...which is the opposite of how I usually do it. I then combed the bottom section of hair on that side down in a low pony and secured it with an elastic. Then I took the hair that I flipped up on the top and split it into two sections. I made two twists and brought them both down and secured them to the lower ponytail creating the heart shape. You could also easily just do two 3 strand braids and make the heart that way. To do a twist you split the hair in two sections and twist each section the same direction and then twist them together in the opposite direction. I did the same steps on the other side of her head and chose to top this hairdo off with a simple ribbon tied around the pony. I also used a bobby pin on each side of each heart to secure it to her head....these kindergarteners can get kind of rowdy!Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-80506786383294747352010-12-03T19:14:00.001-08:002013-05-22T00:25:09.256-07:003 twist wormy updo<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TPmzuHdP0II/AAAAAAAAAgk/9nBm1zSHdu4/s400/DSC_0026.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546662020940550274" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TPmzt08YzOI/AAAAAAAAAgc/ht4VW1bkKxA/s400/DSC_0028.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546662015970888930" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TPmztmfQiAI/AAAAAAAAAgU/i95g5z5iNWM/s400/DSC_0031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546662012090615810" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TPmztKvMW2I/AAAAAAAAAgM/EcjP1zO37oQ/s400/DSC_0033.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546662004641258338" />
This one is super simple. I started with 3 flip under knots in the front. I put the rest of the hair up in a pony tail. Then with the hair from the 3 ponies I made 3 ropes and attached them to the big pony. With the hair in the big pony I made a messy bun. The only thing I did different this time I took the hair and split it in half and folded the top half up and the bottom half down and secred it with an elastic. So it looked like a bun with a bunch of hair sticking out around it. Then with the hair sticking out the top I took sections and twisted them, wrapped them down over the bun and secured them with bobby pins. I left most of the hair on the bottom just sticking out. So it looked like a messy wormy bun. I topped it off with a cream ranuncula from Snapbandz. Simple and cute!Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-17625469710123077262010-11-11T15:39:00.001-08:002013-05-22T00:23:58.054-07:00Ropes Braids and Piggy Ropes<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyF0j9Vb2I/AAAAAAAAAfs/_f2bzBuFFwc/s400/DSC_0020.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538448779811057506" />
This one started off with six ponies up on top.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyATnevMLI/AAAAAAAAAfU/fyJLaP98mwY/s400/DSC_0008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538442716262641842" />
I took the hair from the outside 2 ponies one one side and made a rope braid and connected it the the middle pony on the opposite side.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyDrB_qmkI/AAAAAAAAAfc/UOx8q1v-6-8/s400/DSC_0010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538446417051949634" />
I did the same thing on the other side. With the hair on each side that was left out I made a rope and connected to the ponytail on that same side. Then...with the hair from each of the big ponies I made a rope and folded it up and attached it back at the base leaving the ends sticking out on top. I sprayed them with hairspray to make them more spikey. I added two puple ruffle anemones from snapbandz.com to finish off the look. I used these flowers snapped onto clips. She looked way cute and it stayed in very well!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyF1pq5QHI/AAAAAAAAAgE/NFpW5HkwAJ4/s400/DSC_0028.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538448798524194930" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyF1A9Zb-I/AAAAAAAAAf8/PMRmKsJbEtM/s400/DSC_0024.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538448787595948002" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNyF05gFvPI/AAAAAAAAAf0/BXBH7K1rOEo/s400/DSC_0021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5538448785593974002" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-41450319381778973222010-11-09T15:31:00.000-08:002010-11-11T15:36:49.504-08:00Long time no blog...I apologize that I have neglected this blog lately. We have been moving...again! Hopefully now we are all settled and I can get to work! I have also been doing a few craft shows. The people in North Dakota are really loving Snapbandz! If you live in the area we will be at the Airport International Inn in Williston this Friday and Saturday the 12th and 13th. The show goes until 8pm on Friday and 5pm on Saturday. Come see us! We will have lots of new Christmas items and will be adding them to our online inventory very soon as well! I also thought I would include a picture of my cute kids from Halloween. We had Little Miss Muffet and her Spider. I love Halloween!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNnavRxrGlI/AAAAAAAAAfM/zH1d-h9rWbM/s400/miss%2Bmuffet%2Band%2Bspider.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537697722589190738" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-74799471428317052252010-11-09T15:14:00.000-08:002010-11-11T15:37:17.996-08:00Criss Cross Ropes and Braids<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNnXMRzr4_I/AAAAAAAAAfE/nqTtEuPEQws/s400/DSC_0003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537693822767326194" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNnXL4YcPcI/AAAAAAAAAe8/Lr0kB1V3iVA/s400/DSC_0001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537693815942168002" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 266px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TNnXLhUkOcI/AAAAAAAAAe0/bKHi3xQH_JA/s400/DSC_0006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5537693809751898562" />
This one was actually prettty simple. I went back about and inch and part the hair ear to ear. I made 3 ropes and 3 braids. I just did every other one a rope or braid. To make a rope braid just part the section in half, twist both sections one way, and them twist them together the opposite way. Make sure to have the braids angle toward the opposite side of the head. I continued the part from the front all the way down making two pony tails. I added the 3 ropes/braids from the right to the left pony tail and secured them with an elastic. With the ropes/braids on the left I crossed them over and under each of the ropes/braids from the left and then secured them to the pony tail on the right. I topped it off with two small white ranunculas from snapbandz.comMandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-19782926432017022632010-10-12T16:31:00.000-07:002010-10-12T17:43:32.375-07:00Newsboy HatsGreat news! I split the hair in half from side to side with another part. I added an elastic to the hair at the crown. I took the hair from the front of the traingle and made a simple 3 strand braid and connected it to the back pony. I did the same thing on each side of the first triangle braid. Then I took the hair from the middle pony and split in in half. I took half the hair from the middle braid and the hair from one pony and did a simple 3 strand braid. I did this on both sides. Then I made two low ponies with the remaining hair and and added the braids to them. She made this adorable outfit for Miss M! I thought it turned out so cute! Go check out this outfit and many others at www.sewdivineboutique1.etsy.com
For the hair do I made two piggie tails in the front and flipped them under. I took the hair from the piggies and braided them all the way to the end. I had my little girl hold them while I continued the part back and made two more piggies. I took the two braids and tied them in a knot then attached one to each of the second set of ponies. I made some VERY messy buns and topped it all off with two antique blue hydranges from snapbandz.com For the buns I took the hair and back combed it, wadded it up and added a few elastics to hold the shape I wanted. I know...it sounds very technical! :) We got lots of compliments this day!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TLODD4kek4I/AAAAAAAAAdw/2TTiqfSut6Y/s400/kisses.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526905270461961090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TLODDqBYE1I/AAAAAAAAAdo/3l3hHn8MhG0/s400/emma+railroad.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526905266556638034" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 286px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TLODDdG5TRI/AAAAAAAAAdg/ylIaU8Xcsew/s400/emma.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526905263090126098" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-60465153476037531622010-10-08T09:31:00.000-07:002013-05-22T00:27:26.378-07:00Braid on top hair headband<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TK9JQm87R8I/AAAAAAAAAdY/C3F5vu2u3DE/s400/DSC_0012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525715817489713090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TK9JP2lKamI/AAAAAAAAAdQ/p-mEuSt27LM/s400/DSC_0015.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525715804505139810" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TK9JPWSD2PI/AAAAAAAAAdI/urS5Ac6QunY/s400/DSC_0016.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525715795835082994" />
This is so simple. It is done just like the two rope headband but I just did a single 3 strand braid instead. Part the hair on one side about an inch or two back and from ear to ear. Comb the hair smooth and spray with hairspray. Take a small section right at the part line and create a braid and lay on top of the hair. Pull both sides tight and attach together at the base of the neck with a small elastic. (Note: the small elastic also helps keep the headband in place on little girls who have trouble with that.) I added an narrow orange crochet headband with a bright pink daisy with polka dot center on this one. I love to mix and match the colors of the headbands and flowers from Snapbandz to match each outfit. I used my 3 barrel curling iron to create some waves. Pretty simple!Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-7715915619657648742010-10-05T17:51:00.000-07:002010-10-12T16:09:22.215-07:00Cute little modelI did another photo shoot of this sweet little girl today. She is now 6 months old! Here's a sneak peek of a few new items coming to Snapbandz!
This one is a large black daisy with a polka dot center and is snapped onto a narrow black crochet headband.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKvJXtS6CCI/AAAAAAAAAcg/Sp45VKDuW4s/s400/white+edge.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524730777033115682" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKvKOLRnpyI/AAAAAAAAAcw/hbxzazXzEVo/s400/tutu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524731712793716514" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKvKN8k4cYI/AAAAAAAAAco/UfxRWaAZ8xY/s400/close+up+smile.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524731708847976834" />
I have used this flower before but am just now adding it to our inventory! The eggplant daisy with jewel. This is on a cream nylon headband.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKvKzSLLI3I/AAAAAAAAAc4/2YFpZ6HKbFE/s400/reece.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524732350300889970" />
Last but not least is a pink hydrangea on a thin headband. I am just now experimenting with these little headbands. Anyone interested?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKvLSqYo1QI/AAAAAAAAAdA/sTo5Y0Xza9A/s400/patchwork.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5524732889375757570" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-5319757484434963532010-09-30T15:47:00.000-07:002010-10-12T16:09:47.561-07:003 flip under knot braid with hair headband half updo<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUYY3WpZ_I/AAAAAAAAAcY/GN0U8VkQlgU/s400/DSC_0013.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522847333494646770" />
Wow! That is a long name. I will have to work on being more creative. For this one you want to leave the hair along the hairline out about an inch back. This will be the hair headband. Go about another inch back and part the hair from ear to ear and make 3 flip under knots.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUWkgh2MPI/AAAAAAAAAbw/-3sLBQ6hVRk/s400/step1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522845334502781170" />
Then pull them out of the way or have your daughter hold them. Pull the remaining hair on the top half of her head back into a ponytail.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUW4xSSRPI/AAAAAAAAAb4/zsKcmDbguuY/s400/step2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522845682598298866" />
Then take the 3 pieces of hair from the flip under knots and braid them together and connect them to the pony tail. Then take a piece of hair from the pony tail and wrap around the elastic to hide it. This time I just secured it with a clear elastic and pulled the hair down a little to hide the securing elastic. To finish off part the hair you left down at the hairline and part it on the side. Wet it down and comb to each side. I used some hairspray to keep it smooth. Take the hair around to the base of the neck and secure it with a little elastic. I topped this one off with a purple anemone from snapbandz.com
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUXaz2islI/AAAAAAAAAcA/XqIxZIxqLzM/s400/step3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522846267402793554" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUYYtkh1mI/AAAAAAAAAcQ/p3r3rO2r0b0/s400/DSC_0020.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522847330868516450" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUYYXxAV-I/AAAAAAAAAcI/2PFxQIMiQWM/s400/DSC_0016.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522847325015267298" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3992660788817204175.post-24411977574808387732010-09-30T15:36:00.000-07:002010-10-12T16:30:13.040-07:00The Shelby Do<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUS8unsXWI/AAAAAAAAAbg/IC0fsNU9w20/s400/61497_1502316251260_1634825846_1156563_2399892_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522841352555748706" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUS8aXCGcI/AAAAAAAAAbY/P6H6aAaMuUg/s400/61497_1502316211259_1634825846_1156562_8026464_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522841347117160898" />
My bff Brandy was kind enough to let me share these pictures of her daughter Shelby with you! She started with 5 piggies in the front. Pulling the hair from the piggies out of the way she pulled the rest of the hair up into a pony tail. She split each of the 3 middle ponies in half and made links and connected them to the large pony and did a big messy bun. This looks so cute! She added her favorite flower (sky blue daisy with jewel) from snapbandz.com to top it off! Thanks for sharing Brandy!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NS2kEVqWct8/TKUS81czDJI/AAAAAAAAAbo/qU0plt17O3w/s400/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522841354389097618" />Mandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00081300012716496329noreply@blogger.com0
